Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Strikly, LLC (“Strikly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a mobile knitting companion app that helps you follow knitting patterns, organize your projects and yarn stash, and connect with a community of knitters.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the rights you have over your data.
This policy applies to the Strikly mobile app and any related services we provide.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
- Email address
- Name (if you provide it)
- Authentication details (Apple, Google, or email login)
2.2 User Content
- Knitting patterns you import or upload
- Projects, progress, and row-tracking data you enter
- Yarn stash, tools, notes, and other details you add
- Photos you choose to upload (for example, project or swatch photos)
2.3 Ravelry Integration
If you connect your Ravelry account, we access data from Ravelry that you authorize — such as your pattern library and queue. This data is subject to Ravelry’s Privacy Policy in addition to ours.
2.4 Community Content
If you participate in community features, we collect the posts, comments, and reports you submit, along with associated account information.
2.5 Subscription and Purchase Information
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions, including:
- Subscription status
- Transaction history (active, expired, trial)
- App Store or Play Store purchase identifiers
We do not receive or process your payment card details directly. Payments are handled by Apple or Google.
2.6 Website Analytics
When you visit our website, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used. This is a privacy-focused, cookieless tool that collects aggregate, non-identifying information — such as page views, referring sites, general location (country), and device and browser type. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and is not used to identify individual visitors.
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1 App Functionality
- Create and maintain your account
- Store and sync your patterns, projects, stash, and photos across your devices
- Manage your subscription access
- Keep the app secure and reliable
3.2 Community Safety and Moderation
To keep our community safe, content submitted to community features is screened using automated moderation tools (see Section 4). We use the results to remove or hold content that violates our Community Guidelines and to enforce our enforcement and strike policies.
3.3 Product Improvement and Support
- Diagnose and fix problems
- Improve performance and usability
- Respond to support requests and account inquiries
We do not sell your personal data.
4. How We Share Information
We share data only with service providers needed to operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for unrelated purposes.
- Supabase — hosting, database, authentication, and file storage for your account and content
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase verification
- Cloudflare — privacy-focused, cookieless analytics for our website; collects aggregate usage metrics and does not identify individual visitors
- Google Perspective API — automated content moderation for community features; the text of community posts is sent for toxicity scoring
- Ravelry — if you connect your Ravelry account, data is exchanged with Ravelry under their API terms. Your use of Ravelry is independently governed by Ravelry’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
The moderation providers receive only the text of content submitted to community features, and only for the purpose of safety screening. They do not receive your account patterns, projects, stash, or photos.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your account information, content, and uploaded media are stored using Supabase. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data while your account is active.
If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except where:
- Retention is required by law, or
- Limited records are necessary for compliance, safety, or fraud prevention
Community moderation records (such as flagged content and strike history) may be retained as needed to enforce our Community Guidelines.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data. If you are in the UK or EU, under the GDPR you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Request portability of your data
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent
If you are a California resident, under the CCPA/CPRA you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how we use it
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@strikly.app. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
8. Children’s Privacy
Strikly is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than the one in which you live, including the United States. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date. Your continued use of Strikly after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
